<p>A stainless steel for high-purity gas, which is excellent in the prevention of dusting in welding, corrosion resistance and noncatalytic quality, and is widely utilizable in the process for producing semiconductors and liquid crystals. The austenitic stainless steel of the invention is reduced in the content of manganese, aluminum, silicon and oxygen, and is excellent in the prevention of dusting in welding, corrosion resistance, wear resistance and machinability. The ferritic and duplex stainless steels of the invention readily form chromium oxide coating in oxidation treatment and are excellent in the resistance to corrosion by corrosive gases and the noncatalytic quality against unstable gases. <IMAGE></p> |
