In accordance with the invention, a data transfer protocol at least partly complying with the DECT system is used between the portable and fixed part and a data transfer protocol that is at least partly in accordance with the GSM system is used between the fixed part (FP) and the service center (SC). The solution according to the invention provides transmission of short messages within the DECT system and between the DECT system and an external system through a GSM type short message service center. |
