FIELD: musical instruments. SUBSTANCE: shoulder support is intended for convenient holding of musical instrument while playing it. Support includes plate, supporting rest mounted on plate for adjustment and rigid registration in various positions on mentioned plate, elastic cushion attached to supporting rest, support made fast to end of plate but adjustable along plate, grip put immobile into mentioned support, grip hinged to free end of plate. Salient feature of proposed shoulder support consists in that grip hinged to free end of plate is manufactured in the form of fork with uncushioned ends which when shoulder support is put on to violin are arranged between tightening screws of chin piece to register immobile end of plate in specified position. Free end of plate thus plays function of second support and can be easily removed from violin. Protrusion of shoulder support gives stability to whole structure of shoulder support as it touches edging of great oval of lower sounding board performing function of third support. It is characteristic of proposed shoulder support that protrusion is located on supporting rest, moves together with it in process of adjustment, is registered on plate in any position needed for playing and consequently ensure stability of shoulder support. Position of contact points of shoulder support with sounding board of violin is aside of main resonance region of sounding board which minimizes negative acoustic effect emerging with any shoulder support put on violin. Implantation of contact-burdock tape into structure of shoulder support makes it possible to connect and disconnected elastic cushion from supporting rest which enable its configuration to be easily changed with allowance for individuality of musician.
