PURPOSE: To simplify arithmetic processing for giving gradations by providing a luminance calculating means which calculates the luminance of plotted dots according to gradation modification information. CONSTITUTION: When a gradation modification instruction is inputted, a processor 1 displays a gradation modification information specification screen. A graphic or character string to be given gradations is selected out of plotted graphics or character strings on the screen and the range, type, and color order of the gradations to be given to the selected graphic or character string are specified. An area calculation part 15 calculates a rectangular area where the colors are generated from the gradation range. A luminance calculation part 16 calculates colors and luminance at respective coordinates positioned on segments of raster data according to the specified color order and type and the area information from the area calculation part 15. A display driver 9 writes luminance information on plotting data calculated by the luminance calculation part 16 in a frame buffer 10 and a display part 1 reads it out to make a display. |
