METHOD OF DETERMINATION OF VELOCITY OF STRIKER PIERCING OBSTACLE

FIELD: testing. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to study of resistance properties of obstacles. In agreement with invention determination of velocity of striker piercing obstacle is carried out by way of modelling of piercing process. Modelling is performed with studied obstacle and model striker identical to specified one but having bigger mass sufficient to pierce obstacle on standard equipment. Having experimentally evaluated level of resistance of obstacle (in given case-piercing velocity for model striker one further uses similarity of impact actions of model and specified strikers and evaluates piercing velocity for specified striker. Procedure of re-calculation of impact actions in proposed method is carried out by their reduction to standard material for which dependences of piercing velocity on thickness by specified and model strikers are determined.
