PURPOSE: To provide an AC type plasma display panel having a structure capable of stably ensuring a sufficient discharge space by a simple method. CONSTITUTION: In a plasma display panel constituted of a front surface plate provided with at least an X electrode 2, dielectric layer 3 and a black matrix 4 by this order on a glass substrate 1 and a back surface plate provided with at least a Y electrode 7, dielectric layer 8 and a barrier rib 10 by this order on a glass substrate 6, a spacer 13 of specifying a gap between the front/back surface plates is provided between the black matrix 4 of the front surface plate and the barrier rib 10 of the back surface plate. A discharge space similar to the case of using glass beads can be ensured between the barrier ribs 10. Since a panel is manufactured by providing the spacer 13 on the black matrix 4 or on the barrier rib 10, the spacer 13 can be easily formed with a rib material used by a printing method or by a photolithographic method similarly to the other constitutional element. |
