PURPOSE: To attain the solution of troubles without sending any serviceman to the place of an electronic mail terminal by providing a software updating means in an electronic mail system. CONSTITUTION: A control document(CD) of a version-up request is sent to a message communication system MHS terminal 71 from a host computer 11. The terminal 71 that acquired the right of transmission sends the version number of control software of its own terminal to the computer 11 . The computer 11 refers to a control software storage area management table 9 from the inside of a storage 31 and acquires the head address of an area where the software of the version to be updated is stored. Then the computer 11 reads the software out of the storage 31 and sends the software information to the terminal 71 after converting it into a CD. Then the code part of the software storage area included in an auxiliary storage of a storage 81 connected to the terminal 71 is updated. |
