<p>PURPOSE: To extract a sync pattern, which is required in performing bit conversion, from data accurately. CONSTITUTION: To the parallel data, which are made to be 9-bit data in an 8-to-9 bit converter circuit 62, a sync pattern and an ID pattern are added in a sync pattern/ID pattern adding circuit 63. The data are recorded in a tape after the conversion into the serial data in a parallel/serial converter circuit 64. The data reproduced from the tape are made to be the parallel data in a serial/parallel converter circuit 65. Then, the sync pattern and the ID pattern are extracted in a sync pattern/ID pattern extracting circuit 66. The data are converted into 8-bit data in a 9-to-8 bit converter circuit 67 based on the extracted sync pattern and ID pattern.</p> |
