<p>PURPOSE: To provide a high temperature serving electrical insulating gasket that combines both excellent sealing and electrical insulating properties under the condition of high temperature and pressure. CONSTITUTION: A metal outer ring 21 is fitted in the outer circumferential side of a spiral-wound gasket body 20, and a section square joint-sheet ring connecting member 22 is fitted in the inner circumferential surface, using them as a core member, and two ring outer cover plates 24 made of filler-mixed PTFE each are superposed on the contact surface of this center member to a piping flange 23 in a sandwiching manner, then these outer cover plates 24 are unified to the connecting member 22 after bonding with a binder 25. Since this filler-mixed PTFE ring outer over plate is excellent in both heat and flow resistant properties in particular, it synergistically acts together with a characteristic of the spiral-wound gasket body or the core member, so excellent sealability is brought into full play under the condition of high temperature and pressure. Moreover, since the outer cover plate covers the metal outer ring, there is no problem as to the electrical insulating property.</p> |
