PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze information requested by various sub-systems from a bit stream, and advancing it to a proper sub-system for further processing. SOLUTION: A video compression processor 20 is provided with a video syntax purser 40. A compressed bit stream is checked until a starting code is searched. The starting code is decoded for inctiating a specific parser state corresponding to it. The parser state is transmitted to plural sub-systems 36, 42, 44, 46, 48, 52, 54, and 56 of the video de-compression processor 20. Each sub-system monitors the parser state for determining which analyzed data following the starting code are directed to the sub-system. Then, the sub-system retrieves necessary analyzed data through a data bus 58 for receiving analyzed data from the parser 40. |
