FIELD: electrical engineering; brushless excitation of various synchronous machines. SUBSTANCE: magnetic system of exciter inductor has poles with electromagnetic and mixed excitation; poles with mixed excitation are of different and alternating polarity arranged symmetrically over inductor circumference; each slot of mixed-excitation poleshoes accommodates two coils at different pitches; one of coils is wound with same pitch as coils of combined armature winding of pilot exciters placed in slots of poleshoes with electromagnetic excitation; other coil is wound with pitch which is a multiple of pole pitch of working harmonic of tooth order of resultant field in air gap; exciter armature winding has one or more parallel circuits whose maximum number equals number of poles with mixed excitation; provided between slots carrying exciter armature winding are slots of smaller depth not filled with this winding; coils placed in slots of poles with mixed excitation and having equal pitches are connected in series and cumulatively. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities of exciter, reduced material input, improved efficiency.
