摘要 |
PURPOSE: To enhance a magnetic thin film in soft magnetic characteristic by a method wherein main magnetic layers formed of magnetic columnar crystal grains prescribed in average height and diameter and intermediate magnetic layers smaller than the main magnetic layer in saturation magnetic flux density by a specific value are alternately laminated. CONSTITUTION: Main magnetic layers 2 formed of magnetic crystal grains 4 and 5 having a shape factor of which the range is expressed by 0.3<=ds/dl<=0.9, where dl is the average height of magnetic columnar crystal grains 11 and ds is the average diameter of the same and intermediate magnetic layers 3 smaller than the main magnetic layer 2 in saturation magnetic flux density by above 0.1 tesla are alternately laminated for the formation of a magnetic thin film 1, and furthermore the average diameter ds lies in the range 1nm<=ds<=40nm. By this setup, a magnetic thin film high in saturation magnetic flux density, heat resistance, and soft magnetic characteristics can be obtained, and a magnetic head is capable of being enhanced in electromagnetic conversion efficiency and recording density by the use of the above magnetic thin film.
