PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for image transmission capable of easily correcting image data omitted due to a transmission error and reproducing a high definition image extremely close to an original image. CONSTITUTION: When an input image comprises (k) picture element lines on a transmission side, the picture element line is grouped by a remainder when the line number of the picture element line is divided by (n), and it is encoded by rearranging in sequence of the group. Data is transmitted by adding an error correction code, and reception data is corrected and decoded on a reception side. When the block with omission due to the transmission error exists, the image data is corrected by copying from a part equivalent to the block with omission in another group on the group in which the block with omission exists. The picture element line is layered so as to be arranged in an original line order after applying such correction, then, it is reproduced. |
