PURPOSE: To provide silicon-containing carbon material which is excellent as the electrode material of a lithium secondary battery. CONSTITUTION: An electrode material has an angle of 2θ as determined by an X-ray diffraction using Cu-K α beams of 19.7-24.7 deg., and carbon and silicon as the main component, and an content of the silicon of 0.01-30wt.%. The electrode material is prepared by heating polymer having a Si-C≡C bond or a mixture of the polymer with other organic material in an inert atmosphere. |
