PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently remove a block phenomenon appearing at the block boundary of video data by using a selective filtering method and a pixel data correcting technique. SOLUTION: The decoded video data of a present frame are stored, each pixel value of the stored video data is successively assigned as a target pixel value, and position information is generated. A selection signal indicating whether or not this target element belongs to a boundary area is generated, the target pixel values are selectively filtered (250), and the filtered target pixel values are generated. The absolute value of a difference between the non-filtered original target pixel value and the filtered pixel value is calculated (260), and when the absolute value of the difference is less than a preliminarily determined threshold value, the stored target pixel value is updated with the filtered target pixel value. This process is repeated N times, and when the absolute value is the same or larger, the stored target pixel value is updated with a compensated target pixel value, and this process is repeated for the next target picture element until all the picture elements of the present frame are post-processed.
|
