PURPOSE: To simplify the registration of the house, etc., of the driver of a vehicle by storing positional data acquired by means of a present location acquiring means when the stopping time of the vehicle first exceeds a fixed period of time after an initializing means is operated in a specific position storing means. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 9 initializes a navigation device and sets a driver's house unregistered state by setting a RESET flag to '1'. The CPU 9 first judges whether or not the main power supply is turned off by judging the driver's house unregistered state from the RESET flag and stores the present time in a RAM 8 when the main power supply is turned off. When the main power supply is again made, the CPU 9 reads the present time and stores the positional data calculated by a GPS block 2 when the difference between the present time and the time stored in the RAM 8, namely, the stopping time of its own vehicle exceeds a fixed period of time as the location of the driver's house. Therefore, the driver of the vehicle can easily register frequently used places, such as his house, etc., in the navigation system after purchase by only initializing the navigation system. |
