FIELD: light signaling; urban traffic control. SUBSTANCE: residual glow time of three red or green lamps arranged above roadway in single horizontal row on either side of yellow lamp, two lamps of color being indicated are turned off in turn in desired time intervals starting from lamp most distant from yellow lamp. In the process, third lamp remains glowing for some time. Then turned-off lamps are turned on and allowed to flicker for remaining time in the following sequence: all three lamps are allowed to flicker at a time, then two lamps and one lamp flicker in equal time intervals, whereupon yellow lamp is turned on. EFFECT: improved reliability of traffic control. |
