CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN ATM ELECTRONIC EXCHANGE SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To attain the configuration management system in an ATM electronic exchange system which flexibly copes with the system configuration management in configuration change and distribution of the system by automatically constituting configuration data of the system without entering any command. CONSTITUTION: In the ATM electronic exchange, logical channel identifiers for inter-package information transmission which monitor or manage switch packages 22 and 23 and interface packages 24 and 25 are preliminarily assigned correspondingly to logical slot numbers. A control system package 21 inquires of logical slot numbers about information related to classifications and functions of packages. Configuration data of the system is automatically constituted based on response information to this inqury to constitute and manage each package. The transmission line physically equivalent to the transmission line for cells used for communication between terminals or lines is used to make these inquiry and response by cell communication.
