<p>PURPOSE: To provide a toner fixable at low temp., causing no problem on anti- offsetting property and excellent in fixing strength and image characteristics by incorporating ester obtd. from neopentyl type polyol, dicarboxylic acid and long straight chain satd. fatty acid. CONSTITUTION: This toner contains ester obtd. from at least neopentyl type polyol, dicarboxylic acid and long straight chain satd. fatty acid. The ester is synthesized by putting the neopentyl type polyol, dicarboxylic acid and long straight chain satd. fatty acid in a round bottom flask, adding a small amt. of sulfuric acid, carrying out reflux under heating at about 130 deg.C for 4hr and purifying the resultant residue with methyl ether, etc. The m.p. of the ester is preferably 40-80 deg.C. The ester content of this toner is preferably 1-20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. bonding resin. In the case of <1 pt.wt., the effect of the ester on fixability is slight. In the case of >20 pts.wt., melt viscosity is excessively reduced and offsetting is caused at high temp.</p> |
