<p>PURPOSE: To improve the fuel efficiency of a vehicle by variably controlling the target power generating voltage value of the generator of the vehicle in accordance with the state of a battery while the occurrence of the insufficient capacity of the battery caused by the deterioration with time of the battery is suppressed by detecting the deterioration and suppressing the drop of the target voltage value when the deterioration is detected. CONSTITUTION: A target value changing circuit (means for detecting deterioration-with- time of battery and low-voltage power generation inhibiting means) 5 detects the quantity of state related to the deterioration with time of a battery 6 and, when the deterioration advances, inhibits the drop of the target value of the battery 6 based on the quantity of state. At the time of inhibiting the drop, the means 5 discriminates whether or not an engine starter 90 is in a clanking state, detects the voltage of the battery 6 in the clanking state, and outputs the quantity of state related to the deterioration based on the functional value of the voltage of the battery 6 in the clanking state. Therefore, the target power generating voltage value of a generator can be changed in accordance with the state of the battery 6 while the occurrence of the insufficient capacity of the battery 6 associated with the deterioration is avoided and fuel efficiency can be improved.</p> |
