PURPOSE: To provide a document preparing device and a document management method to decide the document contents based on the file names and to easily retrieve a desired document. CONSTITUTION: An input part 11 has such a structure that can perform a handwriting input operation by a pen. A display part 12 is unified with the part 11 and the display screen of the part 12 can be used as a pen operation surface. When the documents are stored, the file names are inputted in images through the part 11. Based on these stored file names, a control part 13 stores the document data in a document storage part 14 and also stores the file names (images) in a file name storage part 15. A list of file names (images) is shown at the part 12 when a document is called out, and the desired one of these file names is selected. Thus the part 13 calls the document data out of the part 14 in response to the selected file name. |
