PURPOSE: To provide a durable image pickup device capable of magnification switching operation at high speed. CONSTITUTION: This device has first and second lenses 26, 28 differed in magnification provided on optical paths branched by a beam splitter 22, and a shutter 30 for selectively interrupting either one of the lights from the first and second lenses, whereby the magnification of the optical system can be changed only by the motion of the shutter. Since the lens need not be mechanically moved in order to change the magnification, a durable image pickup device capable of magnification switching operation at high speed can be realized. |
