<p>PURPOSE: To prevent formation of an air reservoir at a top of a first water chamber and a puddle of solid matter at a bottom of the first water chamber. CONSTITUTION: In a water chamber construction of a heat exchanger 21, a primary fluid outlet nozzle 12 (upper nozzle) and a primary fluid inlet nozzle 10 (lower nozzle) are disposed in a first water chamber 8 in inclinedly opposed manner, the first water chamber 8 is divided into two halves by a partition plate 9 directed substantially perpendicularly to a direction, along which the both nozzles 12, 10 are opposed to each other, and a primary fluid 16 of a liquid is made to pass through heat exchanger tubes 5A top of the first water chamber 8 and the primary fluid outlet nozzle 12 are communicated to each other by means of a bent communication pipe 22, and a bottom of the first water chamber 8 and the primary fluid inlet nozzle 10 are communicated to each other by means of a drain communication pipe 23. Bubbles in the primary fluid 16 rising to the top of the first water chamber 8 and a solid matter in the primary fluid 16 sinking to the bottom of the first water chamber 8 are smoothly sucked into the both communication pipes 22, 23 due to venturi effect by the primary fluid 16 flowing through the both nozzles 12, 10 and a difference in specific gravity to be discharged from the first water chamber 8.</p> |
