PURPOSE: To provide a bulb type fluorescent lamp strong against vibration and shock during transportation with good waterproofness, by providing a fluorescent tube, sealed with rare gas and amalgam in the interior to bridge- connect end parts of a plurality of U-shaped bulbs of specific external diameter with a single discharge path formed, and enveloping the fluorescent tube with a globe and a case. CONSTITUTION: A lamp is provided with a fluorescent tube 1 of sealing 50% Ar, Ne mixed rare gas and amalgam 2 in the interior and bridge-connecting end parts of three U-shaped bulbs, for instance, of 11.0 to 12.5mm external diameter to form a single discharge path. A case 4, built in with a lighting circuit for lighting this fluorescent tube 1, is provided. This fluorescent tube 1 is covered with an envelope comprising a globe 5 and the case 4, and brightness equivalent for 100W with, for instance, 25W power consumption can be obtained. Consequently, the amalgam 2, formed of 55 to 75wt.% Bi, 25 to 45wt.% In and 15 to 2.8wt.% Hg, is sealed in the fluorescent tube 1. This fluorescent lamp is excellent in waterproofness, to endure against vibration and shock during transporting a product. |
