FIELD: agriculture; potato harvesters. SUBSTANCE: clod-breaking drum has shaft (axle) with two disks rigidly secured on shaft. Eight reliably sealed sectors are secured in definite direction on disks. Sectors are sealed to prevent soil from getting into drum as it might cause failure of drum. Clod breakers (fingers) are mounted in sectors for reliable and easy movement square to drum axis. Rods secured on lower flange serve to direct springs which press on clod breakers. Guard cases secured on sector serve to protect clod breakers from soil and prevent damage to potato tubers. Clod breakers are adjusted for operation in light-and heavy-textured soils. Heavy-textured soil clods are broken at load of 6-8 kg and potato tubers are damaged only when load exceeds 25 kg. Drum is self-cleaned from sticking soil in operation. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. |
