PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of recording by eliminating the incompleteness of erasings and the quality degradation of reproduced signal while irradiating the non-crystalline part forming position with the light beam having various intensities. CONSTITUTION: This device is an optical recording device recording recording information by irradiating an optical recording medium 105 with a light beam having a third intensity P3 for an irradiation period τ3 and by irradiating the medium 105 with a light beam having a second intensity P2 for forming crystalline parts after irradiating the medium 105 with a light beam having a first intensity P1 for forming non-crystalline parts for an irradiation period τ1. This device is provided with a light beam irradiating means consisting of a collimator lens 102, a beam splitter 103 and an objective lens 104 irradiating the medium 105 with the light beam and a control means 107 controlling intensities P1, P2, P3 (in this case, P1>P2>P3) and irradiation times τ1, τ3 of the light beam to be irradiated on the medium 105 by the light beam irradiating means so that (P2-P3)×τ3}/ (P1-P2)×τ1}<=1. |
