METHOD FOR OPERATING PLURAL MOTION UNITS SO AS TO GENERATE MOTION OF ARTICULATED BODY AND ITS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To generate a computer AF animation interactively in real time at low cost. CONSTITUTION: The motion units are connected in a weighted mean value. The weight gives priority to some joint rotation of a motion unit constituting the essence of the motion units. The motion units can be mixed asynchronously without limiting the number of motion units which can be mixed together. Phrasing control assigns the weight to the respective frames of the motion units and is useful to facilitate dislocation at the head and tail of the motion units. Smoothing between frames is also used. The fatigue of the articulated body can be simulated even by adding a 'fatigue' motion unit.
