PURPOSE: To realize a satisfactory recording of digital data by reducing crosstalk and improving SN ratio while realizing a high density recording. CONSTITUTION: Digital data arc recorded on a magnetic tape 4 so that plural lines of recording tracks are successively formed slantingly on the magnetic tape 4 by two rotary heads 3a, 3b while side end parts of adjacent recording tracks 5a, 5b are overlapped each other. When azimuth angles of respective magnetic heads 3a, 3b recording and forming two lines of recording tracks 5a, 5b being adjacent to each other are respectively defined as +θ, -θ, theθis set in the range of 16 deg.<=θ<=22 deg..
