The fitting body has an all-round frame, and inside it is a current rail on which are positioned two holders spaced apart by the length of the light tube. These holders, like all other components in the fitting, engage by use of a lock. In at least one holder is an igniter. At a suitable place along the current rail is positioned a choke, a capacitor, or e.g. an electrode unit incorporating a chargeably battery which, when mains voltage fails, maintains the function of the fitting as an emergency light. Also on the current rail is a plinth unit connected by a cable to mains voltage. The current rail has several current paths; in a pref. version for a fitting accommodating two light tubes, the rail has seven current paths. Each component in the fitting has a contact and an engagement accessory. The latter engages the lock component with a snap-in function. |
