CAM EXTENSION AND ITS METHOD OF NETWORK BRIDGE

The circuit provides a CAM expansion to detect its capacity and operate automatically and includes 1K word CAMs linked to a Versa Module Europa(VME) bus controller and a CAM controller. Its operation comprises the steps of: initializing the CAMs by performing an initializing routine under the condition that all n CAMs were mounted; counting them by performing a test routine repeatedly; reinitializing them by performing the initializing routine repeatedly as many as the counts.
