The machine comprises a movable structure 7 in which the sweeping brushes 9, 15 are mounted, a chamber 19 with a rubbish elevating mechanism 20, a lower inlet mouth 18 and an upper outlet opening 22. The structure 7 may adopt a lower working position with the brushes resting on the ground and an upper rest position with the brushes off the ground. The chamber 19 communicates with a hopper 24 when the structure 7 is at rest by means of an opening 25 which can be made to face the opening 22. The hopper has a suction turbine 30, a hatch 28 and an opening 33 in which a suction tube 34 is connected. An arm 39 is mounted on the front part of the machine, whose end incorporates a rotary brush 40. This arm can be moved from side to side and oscillate both vertically and horizontally. <IMAGE>
