The product consists of a flour base in the form of a crisp crust, with tomato spread over one of the sides, on which solid food products, such as minced (ground) meat, tuna, bacon (salt pork), sardines, precooked ham and sobrasada (Mallorcan sausage) are placed, with a covering of melted cheese. The food product has the appearance of a cake which may have any shape, for example a rectangular shape. The crust is obtained from a thin precooked piece of bread-type mixture split down the middle. Each half forms the base of one unit of the product, which has tomato spread over one side. The solid food products and the cheese are then placed on a supply chain, after which the precooked product is packaged and subjected to a fast- freezing (deep-freezing) process. To consume the product, it is placed in the oven for a short period to finish cooking. The product obtained has a configuration similar to a cake which is consumed fresh from the oven. |
