<p>A method of producing a material which displays heat insulating and heat resisting properties is disclosed, the method comprising growing Black Tea Fungus on the surface of a nutrient medium. The culture can be removed after a short growth period. In this form it is gel-like and can be used as a sun block. If allowed to grow further it forms a sheet. The sheet can be dried to a membrane-like form. Alternatively it can be mashed until it forms a gel, spread out as a layer, and then dried to form a membrane.</p> |
