An information processing apparatus has a security checking function for ascertaining the authenticity of a program to be executed, and the program and display data to be displayed are stored in an external storage device. The information processing apparatus, which has a CPU for executing a program, is connected to the external storage device and a display device for displaying the display data. During the execution of the program, the display data stored in the external storage device are displayed on the display device in consonance with that program. The display data are compared with comparison reference data that are stored in the information processing apparatus. When the two sets of data do not match, the operation of the CPU of the information processing apparatus is halted, and further execution of the program is prevented. <IMAGE> |
