<p>An electric water heating jug (1) having a filter assembly (10) for removing particles of scum from the water. Frame member (11) supports a disposable filter paper (19) and is connected to the base of the vessel by a hinge (13). This allows it to be pivoted towards the centre of the jug in order to remove or insert a filter paper. Ribs (15) are provided to seal each side of the frame member (11) to the wall of the jug so that water which is to be poured from the spout (4) must pass through the filter assembly (10).</p> |
