A roll draining unit comprising a drain head positioned so that the drain head can be freely engaged with and disengaged from a roll of a rolling mill, a support frame supporting the drain head on a front end portion thereof, a support frame support means for supporting the support frame movably, and a positioning member connected to one end of the support frame and positioning the drain head so that the drain head can be freely engaged with and disengaged from the roll, characterized in that the drain head comprises a box provided with an elastic bag, which is opened toward the roll surface and can be expanded and contracted in the interior thereof, and a seal member projecting at its front end portion from an opening of the box, and a positioning member contacting an outer circumferential surface of the roll and positioning the drain head, the elastic bag being provided with a pressure regulating means, whereby it is rendered possible to easily set a relative position and a pressing force of each of the drain head and seal member with respect to the roll surface, bring a free end of the seal member into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the roll stably at all times, and carry out a stable draining operation of an excellent effect.
