METHOD AND PLANT FOR MIXING AND ANALYZING UNHOMOGENEOUS FLOWABLE FOODSTUFF, FODDER OR PHARMACEUTICAL MATERIAL

During the mixing of an unhomogeneous flowable material in a tank (2) provided with mixing blades (4), the properties of samples taken from the material in the tank are measured and recorded. The material is removed from the tank through a tube (10) placed close to the tank, said tube having an opening communicating with the internal space of the tank, and material being removed is conveyed into a measuring segment (10b) by means of a conveying member (18) placed in the tube. Then, the effect of the material present in said tube segment (10b) on electromagnetic energy being transmitted into the tube (10) is measured. The measuring procedure that comprises the introduction of fully or partly new material in the tube segment (10b) and subsequent measurement is repeated once or a number of times, and the individual measuring values or sets of such from the individual measuring procedures are recorded. The material being present in the tube segment (10b) during a measuring operation may constitute a quantity that is not representative for the determination of one or a number of components of the material in the tank (2) on the basis of one single recorded measurement value or one single set of same, and if so, the content of one or a number of components of the material in the tank is determined by repeating the measuring procedure so many times with new material being introduced into the tube segment (10b) that the sum total of the quantities of material being measured in the tube segment constitutes a representative quantity. Then, the content is computed on the basis of the recorded measurement values or sets of same.
