PROCESS FOR PREPARING OLEFIN POLYMER

A process for preparing an olefin polymer comprising the steps of: (i) preparing a crystalline polypropylene component and (ii) preparing a low-crystalline or noncrystalline ethylene/ alpha -olefin copolymer component, the steps (i) and (ii) being conducted in any desired sequence in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst to prepare a propylene block copolymer component, and then (iii) adding other catalyst components to the polymerization system and forming a low-crystalline or noncrystalline ethylene/ alpha -olefin copolymer. The olefin polymerization catalyst and other catalyst components are selected from among (A) a solid titanium catalyst component, (B) an organometallic compound, (C) an electron donor, (D) a transition metal compound having a cyclopentadienyl skeleton, (E-1) an organoaluminumoxy compound, and (E-2) a Lewis acid or an ionic compound.
