The armoured wall is formed by an internal metal sheet (1) of large thickness and an external metal sheet (2) of lesser thickness. The sheets define an intermediate space (3) which is filled with a mixture of conventional concrete, a binder material such as Inducast 7000 GT (RTM) and a granular aggregate such as Densit (RTM). Reinforcing bars (4) are embedded in the concrete mass and connected to each other to form at least one mesh structure. The metal sheets are between 0.8mm and 10mm thick, the internal sheet typically being 6.5mm thick and the external sheet 2.5mm thick. The internal sheet may be formed as a composite of two sheets, one of greater thickness than the other.
