Tank for expansion and de-acration for a cooling circuit of an internal combustion engine

The tank consists of two communicating compartments (5, 6), the first having a wall with an inner cylindrical surface and at least one tangential inlet (25) at the top to centrifuge the incoming liquid, while the second has an outlet (32) at the bottom for the degassed liquid and a partition (41, 42) to damp the swirling motion of the liq. The two compartments communicate with one other through apertures (20) at the bottom of the first compartment (5). The second compartment has a cylindrical wall (10) lying coaxially with the first compartment, and two hemispherical ends (11, 31). The tank is made from a moulded plastic such as translucent polypropylene with graduations on its outer surface to allow the liquid level to be monitored.
