There is provided a pressure cooker 10 having a base 11 and a cover 12. A cover moulding 13 incorporates an information panel 14 which is removable by way of clips 21. The panel 14 incorporates measuring means 16 for measuring the temperature of the cover, which temperature is an indication of the pressure. The panel 14 provides an indication as to the status of the cooking process based on the readings of the measuring means 16 which may be a thermistor. <IMAGE>
