The polishing procedure is constituted by mixing a vegetable support and a previously prepared polishing paste to obtain a work charge ready to use. The vegetable support is composed of cores of crushed fruit, such as peaches or apricots, olive cores in the proportion of 4/5 of the charge, and maize pulp in proportion of 1/5 of charge. The two supports are joined to form a light and aerated work charge. This charge enables uniform mixing on the pieces to polish without being heavy and is favourable to intimate contact on bulk treated pieces.
