Removal and transfer of signature etc. stack, using gripper

The gripper (3) is moved to the signature stack (12) such that a top gripper unit (4) is located over the stack and the lower gripper unit (5) is located under the stack. The stack is gripped by hoisting the lower unit and setting the top one onto the stack. Then the turntable with the gripper is rotated up to a second station, where the stack is treated or deposited. The gripper is opened and moved out of the second station. During the retraction of the gripper, prior to motion to second station, the stack is pulled onto a deposition surface, where it stays during the rotation of the turntable. On the approach of the gripper it is pushed onto a treatment or deposition location.
