The present invention relates to functionalized MQ silicone resins having the general formula: where both R 1 and R 2 may be either a phenyl group or an alkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, and both M 1 and M 2 may independently be phenyl, phenethyl, polyether, hydrogen, or one to twenty-three carbon atom alkyl group (which may variously include halogen substituted hydrocarbon radicals) in any combination subject to the limitation that the ratio of the subscripts x, y, and z satisfies the following relationship: 0.5* less than or equal to *(x+y)/z* less than or equal to *4.0. These MQ silicone resins are useful as cosmetic and personal care products.
