A typesetting cylinder of a printer having an outer diameter changing apparatus capable of adjusting the outer diameter of the typesetting cylinder of a printer is disclosed. In the typesetting cylinder, the cylinder frames(2) are installed in parallel around the main shaft(1) and connected between the outer diameter changing apparatuses(6). The outer diameter changing apparatuses(6) allows the cylinder frames(2) to concurrently move in a radial direction with respect to the main shaft(1). Thus, the outer diameter of the typesetting cylinder can be changed corresponding to the size of each print paper so that an additional cost for manufacturing a typesetting cylinder corresponding to each print paper and the time for replacement can be reduced.
