The invention relates to an adapter for a low-pressure discharge lamp which has a cap at one end and has a retaining device (5) for the guide pin (6) of the low-pressure discharge lamp (7) and a conventional cap (2) for incandescent lamps. The mating contacts (11) which hold the contact pins (9) of the lamps (7) are anchored not only on the mounting board (3) for the ballast (4) in the interior of the adapter, but also are additionally mounted on the housing wall.
