A communication means 40 for transmitting and receiving signals between an elevator controlling device 10 and an elevator monitoring device 20 based on a concept of serial multiplex transmission is provided near or within the elevator monitoring device 20. An input/output interface 44 having a buffer circuit 47A, which stores status signals transmitted to the communication means, is provided to transfer the output of this buffer circuit 47A via photocouplers 46 to a buffer circuit 27A of an input/output interface 27 of the monitoring device. In this way, the number of wires required for signal transmission or reception between these devices is reduced, and the signal voltage of these devices can be set freely by insulating signals transmitted to and received from the photocouplers. These results in turn impart greater freedom in the design of the elevator apparatus. |
