The clamping assembly of the head (5) of a valve onto its body (1) contains two lateral flanges (2) to which the piping is fixed (4), and where the head is fixed by screwing. It consists of a clamping sleeve (10), mounted round the head (5), and provided with keys (11) which engage with clamping shoulders (6) forming part of the valve head (5). A reaction cylinder (15) fits round this sleeve and is fixed to the valve body (1) by the flanges (2). For operation a hydraulic actuator is fitted over the drive nut (13) mounted on the top of the inner sleeve (10) and the spanners reaction is taken by the cut-out formed in the top of the outer reaction sleeve (15).
