<p>The equipment (1) for lifting a load (M) is restrained by brakes (3-5) acting on various rotating parts (6-8). Each brake is tested under partial load and the performance is evaluated by interpolation. The compatibility of the load with the established performance of the brakes is then verified. Brake parameters measured include the response time and effective operating time, vertical displacement of the load during braking, initial rotational speed of the braked part, and maximum speed attained during braking.</p> |
