Reliable, low-maintenance appts. to wind nonwoven fleece on cores

An appts. for winding nonwoven fleece onto wind-up cores has: (i) one or more winding rollers(1, 2); (ii) fleece supply with at least one pair of calender rollers; (iii) store for empty cores which are brought singly one after the other to the winding station at a winding roller; (iv) arrangement for taking away full reels; and (v) device for laying the start of the fleece on the new core placed in the winding station so that the core is supplied with a covering. The device for laying the fleece header on the core comprises an air supply pipe (4) parallel to the winding zone with exits (41, 42) in at least two planes lying one above the other. The openings (41) in the first plane (A) being directed at the axis of the empty core (3) and those (42) of the second, upper plane (B) being directed at an increasing angle tangentially at the upper edge of the core. A valve under program control is placed in the supply to the air pipe.
